For Him Note Card Set



This set is perfect for gift giving. The handsome images come nine to a page, which definitely helps with the budget. These images do lend themselves to the guys but the gals will love them, too.



Finished size: 5 1/2" square Cards 

You will need (for each card):


• Printed paper
• Cardstock: brown*, ivory*
• Greeting rubber stamps*
• Brown ink*
• Drywall tape
• Frosted CD envelope*
• Antique copper brads 3–6 for each card
• Push pin or piercing tool & foam pad
• Scoring tool or bone folder
• Foam mounting tape
• Double-sided tape or glue stick
• Optional: Two old belts, grosgrain ribbon, decorative tacks, 1/2" craft foam sheet, serrated knife
Ruler, scissors

• Note: These four cards were created using the same supplies, changing the orientation of the base card, embellishments or applying a different technique such as edging with ink and distressing by tearing edges.


Take Good Care Card – Variation 1


STEP 1: Make base card. Cut brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Score at 5 1/2" and fold in half to make a square side-fold card.


STEP 2: Embellish card front. Place a 5 3/4" strip of drywall tape vertically to card front 1" from left folded side. Trim excess drywall tape. Note: Completing step in this way allows tape to be flush to each edge. Open card and place front right side up onto foam mat. Pierce three holes at top left of drywall tape using grid in tape as a guide. Pierce a hole every two squares until three holes are pierced, starting from left side of tape. Insert brads and fold back prongs. Repeat at bottom starting from right side of tape.


STEP 3: Make image panel. Cut image you want from 12" printed paper. Trim to 4" square. Cut a 4 1/8" square piece of ivory cardstock. Adhere printed image to center of ivory square using tape or glue stick. Adhere this panel to card front 1 1/4" from left side of card and centered vertically using foam mounting tape.


STEP 4: Stamp greeting. Cut a 1" x 1 1/4" piece of ivory cardstock. Ink ‘Take Good Care’ stamp with Chestnut Roan. Stamp image onto cardstock. Adhere greeting to lower left side of card using double-sided tape for portion overlapping printed paper, and foam mounting tape for portion attached to card front.


Create Joy Card – Variation 2


STEP 1: Make base card. Cut brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Score at 5 1/2" and fold in half to make a square side-fold card.


STEP 2: Embellish card front. Adhere a 5 3/4" strip of drywall tape horizontally to card front 1" from bottom of card. Trim excess drywall tape. Open card and place card front right side up onto foam mat. Pierce three holes at bottom right of drywall tape using grid in tape as a guide. Pierce a hole every other square until three holes are pierced, starting from right side of tape. Insert brads and fold back prongs.


STEP 3: Make image panel. Cut desired image from 12" printed-paper, trim to 4" square. Cut a 4 1/8" square piece of ivory cardstock. Use tape or glue stick to adhere printed image to center of ivory square. Use foam mounting tape to adhere panel to card front 1/2" from left folded side and bottom of card.


STEP 4: Stamp greeting. Cut a 1" x 1 1/4" piece of ivory cardstock. Ink greeting stamp ‘Create Joy’ with Chestnut Roan ink. Stamp image onto cardstock. Hold inkpad at a slight angle to edge stamped greeting. Adhere greeting to right side of card using double sided tape for the portion overlapping onto printed paper, and foam mounting tape for portion adhered to card front.


From the Heart Card – Variation 3


STEP 1: Make base card. Cut brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Score at 5 1/2" and fold in half to make a square top-fold card.


STEP 2: Embellish card front. Place a 5 3/4" piece of drywall tape vertically to card front 1" from right edge. Trim excess drywall tape.


STEP 3: Make image panel. Cut image you want from 12" printed paper. Trim to 4" square. Tear each side of image, tearing paper towards you to reveal white edge. Hold inkpad at a slight angle to ink torn edges. Cut a 4 1/8" square piece of ivory cardstock. Use double-sided tape or glue stick to adhere printed image to center of ivory square. In same way, adhere panel to card front 1" from left side and centered vertically.


STEP 4: Add greeting. Adhere a 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" piece of drywall tape 3/8" from left side of card front and centered vertically. Overlap onto printed image panel. Cut a 1" x 1 1/4" piece of ivory cardstock. Ink greeting stamp ‘From the Heart’ with Chestnut Roan ink. Stamp image onto cardstock. Use foam mounting tape to layer stamped greeting onto drywall tape at left side of card 3/8" from edge of tape.


STEP 5: Pierce & attach brads. Open card and place card front right side up onto foam mat. Pierce three holes vertically at left side of stamped greeting. Place one at center and remaining two 1/4" from center or use grid in tape as a guide. Insert brads and fold back prongs.


A Note of Thanks Card – Variation 4
STEP 1: Make base card. Cut brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Score at 5 1/2" and fold in half to make a square top-fold card.


STEP 2: Embellish card front. Adhere a 5 3/4" strip of drywall tape horizontally to card front 1" from top folded edge of card. Trim excess drywall tape. Open card and place card front right side up onto foam mat. Pierce three holes at top right of drywall tape using grid in tape as a guide. Beginning approximately two grid squares or 3/8" from right side, pierce a hole every other square starting with first square at the top until three holes are pierced. Insert brads and fold back prongs.


STEP 3: Make image panel. Cut image you want from 12" printed paper. Trim to 4" square. Tear each side of image, tearing paper towards you to reveal white edge. Ink torn edges using inkpad held at a slight angle. Cut a 4 1/8" square piece of ivory cardstock. Adhere printed image to center of ivory square using tape or glue stick. Use foam mounting tape to adhere panel to card front 1/4" from left side and 3/4" from bottom of card.


STEP 4: Stamp greeting. Cut a 1" x 1 1/4" piece of ivory cardstock. Ink greeting stamp ‘A Note of Thanks’ with chestnut roan ink. Stamp image onto 1 1/4" x 1" ivory cardstock. Hold inkpad at a slight angle to edge stamped greeting. Adhere greeting to right side of card using double sided tape for the portion overlapping onto printed paper, and foam mounting tape for portion attached to card front.


STEP 5: Package cards. Slip completed cards into a frosted CD envelope, allowing top card to serve as an envelope decoration. To send one card at a time, try the see through cellophane envelopes available on the market. Optional: If you want, mount cards to hang on a wall as shown. Use serrated knife to cut craft foam to size of cards. Glue or tape cards onto foam pieces. Wrap ribbon around edges of mounted piece and secure with decorative tacks. Use old belts as hangers for a casual touch.
